We are always on the lookout looking for new teachers

Recruitment

The Pilates Reformer Studio is keen to recruit experienced and highly qualified teachers to join the existing team.

If you are looking to work within the Warrington and Manchester area, there are regular opportunities for individuals with the appropriate qualifications, experience and aptitude. We are constantly looking for talented teachers of Pilates who are able to work at a variety of levels and in various formats. The range is as follows:

  • Groups of 12 on the mat or reformer
  • Small groups on the apparatus
  • 1:3
  • 1:1
  • Rehab/ therapeutic sessions
  • Sessions that are multi-level teach (mixed ability)

The Pilates Reformer Studio current timetable caters for a wide spectrum of abilities, from the very injured person to the elite athlete and includes all levels in-between! So, our aim is to recruit team members who, once they have understood the Studio’s unique style, set-up, and its way of delivering Pilates, can hit the ground running!

These are the qualities we think are essential for our brand of teacher/instructor.

You must be –

  • a Pilates enthusiast.
  • a willing team-player with a positive attitude.
  • an enthusiastic, lifelong learner.
  • open to using techniques from the various schools of teaching.
  • incredibly personable and expressing obvious warmth.
  • utterly client-focused (each teacher is expected to know every client’s name and be able to
    recall their personal issues).
  • able to take a leadership role.
  • adaptable with good observational skills.
  • able to enjoy working with a wide range of people.
  • able to work at least one evening per week (3 sessions back to back) and one shift at the
    weekend.
  • wholeheartedly embrace our brand and be a positive, trustworthy ambassador for the
    Studio.
  • respect and protect the integrity of the relationship between the Studio and its clients.
  • be willing to sign our supply of services agreement.

If you are at all interested, fit this profile, and would like to be considered, then we would really love to hear from you! Please send an up-to-date CV with a clear outline of your teaching experience, attaching (if possible) sample lesson plans from sessions you are currently teaching (ideally at beginners and intermediate level). This will provide us with an understanding of your prep and planning skills and the level of teaching you operate at.

We would be grateful if you would give details of your current availability for work and, in addition, a clear definition of your aspirations in the industry and how you plan to achieve your stated goals.

Whilst we are presently most interested in teachers who are able to ‘hit the ground running’, we are also keen to recruit in order train our own brand of newly qualified but highly talented teachers.
Following the receipt of a suitable CV, our recruitment process comprises several subsequent steps. The candidate is firstly called for interview; secondly, s/he is observed teaching a sample session; and thirdly, if successful, is offered a temporary position for a short trial.

The signing of a 12 month Service Agreement is the happy culmination of this process.

What did Joseph Pilates have in mind when he first taught Pilates? He was giving people back their livelihood not simply teaching them an exercise so they could simply say ‘I do Pilates’.
